I wrote some notes on land valuation in an article on this site in June last year - https://northarmcove.nsw.au/generalinfo/more-land-valuation .

At that time, the Valuer General was busy concluding the once-every-three-year task of revaluing North Arm Cove properties. The result was a bit of a shock in July when we received a letter form the Valuer General’s office to say that our assessed value was $114,000 higher than in had been at the last valuation in 2017. That was an increase of 28.4% in three years, despite falling sales values.

So, we decided to challenge the...

When Alan Jones left 2GB for SKY News, my trusty mobile phone 2GB App became somewhat redundant, except for Ray Hadley 9 to 12 am weekdays. This set me on a quest to find an App for SKY News. Found it covered by an App called “iHEART RADIO”. Issue resolved, but not only did I regain Alan but the most beautiful world of music I have ever heard was opened up to me.

Two years ago, I raised with the then Hall Committee the need to provide an on-site defibrillator at the Community Centre.

Our village populations median age is 59 yrs. (Median means having equal numbers above and below this number). Of course, heart failure for example can occur at much younger ages but can be expected to show an increasing risk as we age. Given our demographic, a defibrillator must be considered a critical piece of life-saving equipment

Two Ambulance Stations are listed as servicing North Arm Cove, Tea Gardens,19 klms. and Buladelah, 37 klms...

There is a bit of work required behind the scenes to keep our website running smoothly. Last week, Bob R and Tony H managed a major security upgrade without crashing the site. Doug K had given them comprehensive notes and was available to fix any problems if required. Neither Bob nor Tony have any computer training, so congratulations to them for successfully undertaking this upgrade. Obviously, our North Arm Cove seniors can learn new tricks.

A question was asked at Saturday’s residents’ meeting as to why NACCAi is involved in the developments at Fame Cove if they really have nothing to do with us and don’t affect us.

It occurred to me that there are probably quite a lot of people in our village who, for one reason or another, have little or no knowledge about what’s been going on.

Without going into too much detail, I’ll try to clear the air a bit.

Fame Cove is a misnomer for 400 hectares of headland on the eastern side of the Cove. It...
