Deferred for a second time!Loal ConroyThu, 22/07/2021 - 5:17pm

Unfortunately we have decided to defer the Winter Soltice bonfire yet again! It had been rescheduled for Sunday 25th July.

Due to the current Covid restrictions and concerns that visitors to North Arm Cove may impose to our area, we feel it appropriate cancel once again. Sincere apologies and hopefully we can resurrect this event in the not too distant future. :)

We are not immune to the Covid-19 crisis in Sydney.

The 7-Eleven at 1 Weakleys Drive Thornton is now a Covid-19 site. The case date was on Tuesday, 13 July 2021 from 12.05pm to 12.11pm. If you were there at that time you must get a Covid test immediately and self isolate until you get the results. If you have visited the site since then, you must also get a test. Visit for full details and more detailed instructions.

If you need fuel, it may be wise to avoid petrol stations on major highways until the lockdown...

The North Arm Cove Community has a good record of successful grant applications. Some of the major projects funded by grants include several upgrades to the Community Centre, establishment of Yallarwah Park, the defibrillator and the construction of the tennis court. We received a $56,000 grant last year for the Community Centre for an electrical upgrade and a water tank and Council also has some grant money for solar panels.

Covid-19 stimuli have resulted in a lot of new grants being available this year. With the help of many residents, the NACCAi committee has been involved in some more...

Local Council Elections will be held on Saturday 4 September 2021.

Voting is compulsory for local residents. You are also eligible to vote as a non-resident in a council area if you are:

an owner of rateable land in the council area an occupier or rate-paying lessee of rateable land in the council area.

Non-residential rolls provide people who are non-resident owners, occupiers and rate-paying lessees of rateable land within the MidCoast Council area an opportunity to have a say in who is elected to Council.

There are two non-residential rolls: the roll of non-resident owners of...

Steering group

Last year, MidCoast Council sent out a postcard asking residents and property owners what they liked about the North Arm Cove and Carrington area and what improvements they would like to see. This was a prelude to forming a steering group to develop a Local Community Plan (LCP).

Council’s idea for a Community Plan is "for people within a community to come together, have a conversation about what they want for the future and develop a plan for how they will get there." We were told at the last NACCAi meeting by our local council representative, Len Roberts, that...

Last Friday 28 May 2021 MidCoast Council sent out an email which provided an update on its Zoning In project and preparation of its Rural Strategy.

The Rural Strategy is important for North Arm Cove as it will determine the future of the non-urban land surrounding the village. This land is currently zoned Rural and is a "paper subdivision".

A  bulky waste kerbside collection for North Arm Cove residents will take place between 4-10 June. It's a great opportunity to dispose of those bulky, unwanted items without even leaving the Cove BUT it is important not to place items out before Wednesday 2 June.

Council advises that, to make the most of Bulky Waste and avoid being fined, we should take some time beforehand to understand what items will be accepted (and what won't), how it should be presented for collection, and when to place it out.

We have received the following message from Dr Hennes at Karuah Medical Centre.

"People aged 40-49 can register for the Pfizer vaccine here: People will be contacted when a booking is available at John Hunter Hospital."

Remember that the Pfizer vaccine has to be stored at very low temperatures and it will not be as readily available at your local GP as the Astrazeneca Vaccine. You may have to attend a dedicated clinic where there are adequate storage facilities.
