Property Prices Down in North Arm Cove

A recent report released by Real Estate Institute of NSW found that North Arm Cove was one of the worst performing suburbs for property investment in NSW. The median price fell 41% in the first half of 2019.

Residents however should be careful in declaring that house prices in the Cove are dropping based on this data. Median is not the average, it is the mid point of the data between the highest and lowest prices for property sold in the last 6 months. The median fell compared to the previous...

Port Stephen's local member, Kate Washington, was returned to the NSW Parliament at Saturday's State election  (23 March 2019). Although counting is (as of 24 March) not yet complete it appears there was a swing of between one and two percent towards her. This has lifted the two-party preferred vote across the electorate to almost 58%.

At the North Arm Cove voting centre Ms Washington topped the first preference votes with 45% at this election compared to 38% and second place in 2015.

They must be doing it really tough down there in the nether world of cheats, con artists and blaggards.

Have you noticed that the quality of scam phonecalls has hit an all time low? If I have to I leap out of my comfy chair seven times in two days to answer the same scam NBN phonecall, the very least I expect is an actual human being on the other end of the line.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that some existing villages and rural living areas should not be in a rural/agricultural zone, now or in the future”

Surrounded by bush and with the waters of Port Stephens lapping at our shores, the villages of North Arm Cove, Carrington, Bundabah and Pindimar are definitely great places to live. As residents, how much do we value what we have now? What sorts of future developments are appropriate for the villages themselves and the surrounding areas?

As the vigorous response to the 2017 Quarry proposal showed, there are a great many locals who...

There are occasions where the actions or inaction of a council can be totally frustrating. Their decisions can appear dictatorial and their service levels lamentable. When we feel we have been badly wronged by council it can be so tempting to let off steam and to harangue council staff or even councillors. But we must constrain ourselves from that temptation.
