Boat ramp/Jetty Drop In!

Boat ramp/Jetty Drop In!

Do you want a BOAT RAMP in North Arm Cove?
Do you want a JETTY?

Responses to the Boat Ramp/Jetty plans are required NO LATER THAN 23 OCTOBER!
That is this SUNDAY, just a few days away.

We need as many locals as possible to email their views to PA1268@project.rhdhv.com

It doesn't have to be a big submission. It can, for example, just say what you prefer. But it is important that the Consultants have your views.

This is what we learnt today at the well attended drop in session with the consultants, Royal HaskoningDHV.

BOAT RAMP:

The consultants had previously reduced the boat ramp options to just two. But investigations over the past week have discovered that the endangered Posidonia Seagrass is even more extensive at the Brackens Bay site than they previously thought. This would mean that approval of a boat ramp at Brackens Bay would be highly unlikely.

So, the consultants now tell us that:
the only viable option for a boat ramp in North Arm Cove is MEDINA BAY.

It won't be cheap. There are quite a few problems yet to resolve. So if it is to ever happen it will require strong community support.

The consultants listened carefully to the range of views presented today and will use that information to refine their proposal.

However, assuming the traffic, parking and funding issues can be addressed,
DO YOU SUPPORT THIS BOAT RAMP?
YOU NEED TO MAKE A SUBMISSION. PA1268@project.rhdhv.com
Email the consultants, no later than Sunday 23 October.

JETTY:

The consultants had proposed just one option for a Community Jetty. This would be located off POINT CIRCUIT and accessible via a fairly steep concrete path including sections with steps on the 6-metre wide access-way. Point Circuit was the only suitable location identified that would give the 2-metre depth at low-tide required for ferry access.

If ferry access was not required, a jetty at Casuarina Park Reserve providing only 1-metre depth at low-tide may be possible. This option would be further explored if there was community support.

Do you SUPPORT A JETTY for the Village?
Do you support the POINT CIRCUIT option?
Do you support investigation of a CASUARINA PARK option?
      LET THE CONSULTANTS KNOW. PA1268@project.rhdhv.com
Email them, no later than Sunday 23 October.
