Not so many months ago and in the times of the Great Lakes Council, a considerable sum was spent conducting a survey of storm water drainage in our village. A plan was developed to address the many issues of drainage and flooding. Some work has been done but much remains outstanding. NACRA has done a new survey of the current drainage situation and the report can be seen below.

Place waste out on 26 May - not before!!

Collection area - Nerong to North of the bridge into Karuah, Pindimar, Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest including all households in this area receiving waste services Monday to Thursday

Two types of waste in separate piles. Each pile no larger than 2 cubic metres, i.e a 7x4 trailer.

Remember - each pile must be no larger than 2 cubic metres and illegal items may result...

Residents should be aware of the generalised nature of the following information in relation to On Site Sewerage Management Systems in the Mid Coast Council area. All repairs or modifications must be approved before any work is commenced. A Council Application Form is attached to this article for downloading.

Remember, if repairs or up grades are required to your system, Council Approval must be obtained before any work is commenced.

This is about solar photo voltaic (pv) systems which you install to generate electricity for your own use.

I am not an expert on pv systems. I don’t even have one at this moment. But we are moving down this path and I‘m keen to learn from others on this matter.

Our household is a fairly small user of power as our water is solar heated and we use wood for heating in winter. This means an investment by us in pv is hard to justify on pure economic grounds although the payback would vary according to the...

At an average rate of close to one per month, our local Council acquires North Arm Cove non-urban lots under Section 10A(2)(b) of the Local Government Act 1993. The standard wording for the Council resolution has previously been:

1. That Council accept the transfer of Lot XXXX, North Arm Cove in payment of outstanding rates and meet transfer costs.
2. That the Common Seal be affixed to transfer documents.
3. That the property be classified as operational land.

GreyFest 2018

You are invited to join us at GreyFest (formerly the Grey & Thespian Mardi Gras) which is being held this year from 6-8th April. Brendan Guiney, Director Water Services of Midcoast Council (formerly Midcoast Water) has made the following official statement in relation to proposed activities being undertaken at Tea Gardens:

In December 2017 we were made aware of potentially illegal work being undertaken on land owned by Australian Pine Products Pty Ltd in Tea Gardens. We are working closely with other State Government departments to investigate the impacts of these activities.

MidCoast Water Services has a rigorous Drinking Water Quality Management System that includes a variety of tests on a regular basis. The recent tests indicate there is no change
