Ian Cook writes .. Dear North Arm Cove community. At long last we have forward movement on implementing strategies identified in the Community Protection Plan. Monday we had contractors move into the Cove to commence work on the Asset Protection Zone (APZ) for the community hall. I am sure that many of you have either seen or heard the machinery and contractors in action. Once the APZ is in place we can then proceed to have the community hall listed as an Neighbourhood Safer Place.

Move over Mr Lee. North Arm Cove is #1 now!We always knew North Arm Cove was a top place to live. Great views. A caring community.Yet in the discussion at last Saturday's Residents meeting on dropping property values in the Cove it seems we got it completely wrong. One hundred and eighty degrees wrong. On Saturday Night (May 23) the Cove community dug deep to express its appreciation of the splendid efforts of the SES during the April storms. At the end of the night the SES were presented with a cheque for $3,500 but when the receipts from donations, entry fees, raffles, auction sales and competitions are all combined, the final figure is likely to be even higher. Not a bad effort from one small village!

Information The SES did a fantastic job following April's cyclonic storm events. While these events are still fresh in our memories, it is a good time to see what we can learn from our experiences. It will help the community to be better prepared should something similar happen again. To aid this process the SES are holding a public meeting at the Baptist Church in Tea Gardens.
